Erm, There's a Strawberry in Your Sandwich
"Yeah, what of it?"
All around Colmore Row, Pret-peeved workers rejoice: 200 Degrees Coffee opens under The Grand on Monday, and they're bringing more than a ham salad on brown. Launching with a soft onion and Nigella seed baguette to include Prosciutto, Dijon, strawberries, goat cheese and watercress, expect a weekly changing menu including salads, quichey type things and sandwich combos with seasonal, creole chutzpah. Including seating for 75 and a barista school plus meeting spot downstairs, the operation stems from an utterly amiable gaggle of small batch coffee roasters based in Nottingham, who started life in the bar trade. Unable to find a coffee to sate them, the team started working on their own roast. With four years of love and development to back it up, 200 Degrees' house blend is the team's best seller. Open7.30am until 8pm weekdays, and at more civilised hours come the weekend, there's dedicated wifi and even a creepy rocking chair. Menu below...
